White Fused Alumina (WFA), also known as white corundum, is produced by melting high‑purity industrial alumina powder in electric arc furnace at 2000‑2050 ℃. After crystallization, cooling, crushing, magnetic iron‑removal and size classification, we get angular grains and fine powders with main crystal phase α‑Al₂O₃.
It features pure white color, high alumina purity and low impurity content. Mohs hardness reaches 9.0 with melting point 2250 ℃. Comparing with brown fused alumina, WFA owns higher hardness, good self‑sharpening performance and excellent chemical resistance against acid and alkali. Low iron and low‑sodium grades avoid discoloration under high‑temperature service conditions.
