Lightweight Insulating Brick, also called lightweight insulating refractory brick, is porous low-density shaped refractory brick made from lightweight aggregates. It features low thermal conductivity and is used for thermal insulation in high-temperature furnaces, not for direct contact with molten slag or heavy abrasion.
Key Features:
- Low bulk density and high porosity, outstanding heat insulation performance.
- Low thermal conductivity, effectively reduce heat loss and save energy.
- Light weight, reduces the load of furnace structure.
- Easy to cut and shape for flexible furnace construction.
- Limited mechanical strength, not suitable for working surfaces with slag erosion or severe wear.
Available Grades:
LZ-0.5: Bulk density ≤0.5 g/cm³
LZ-0.6: Bulk density ≤0.6 g/cm³
LZ-0.8: Bulk density ≤0.8 g/cm³
LZ-1.0: Bulk density ≤1.0 g/cm³
LZ-1.2: Bulk density ≤1.2 g/cm³
Main Applications:
- Back-up thermal insulation lining for various industrial kilns and furnaces.
- Heating furnaces, tunnel kilns, heat treatment furnaces, boilers and flues.
- Low-load high-temperature equipment to lower shell surface temperature.
- Ceramic kilns, aluminium furnace insulation and other non-abrasion high-temperature zones.
